The Captains' Farewell!
Retiring captains Ed Garbett and Jude Elder were joined by club members on Friday evening (14th March) to celebrate the end of another golfing year. We enjoyed a fantastic buffet supper courtesy of Elaine and her team - well done all!
Ed & Jude recalled their high spots (and some lows, which were mostly weather related) and thanked every member who had donated to their joint charity, the Severn Hospice, during the year which resulted in an amazing £4050 being collected.
A cheque was presented to representatives of Severn Hospice, Pat Hoyland and Nicky Green, who gave an illuminating talk on the work of the hospice and the importance of fund raising to their continued success. Thanks are also due to Bev Howell (Ladies Treasurer) for managing the fund throughout the year and organising the cheque!
At the end of the evening Ed received his Past Captain's Salver from the Chairman, Clive Lloyd, and Jude was presented with hers by Past Lady Captain, Dorothy Mottram.
