We’d like to welcome James Davies into his new role as PGA Professional here at Oswestry Golf Club.
James began his PGA training right here back in 2001.
James, his wife Gemma and their two boys, Rufus (11) and Clark (10), are all looking forward to becoming part of Oswestry Golf Club.
Some of you may have seen some changes in the golf shop already. If not, come in and have a look. The biggest change so far, is the installation of a golf simulator bay, which will be used for iron fittings, nearest the pin competitions and as an option for warming up ahead of tee times.
As the season progresses, the shop will begin to welcome new stock, some highlights include :
Callaway ladies clothing
Adidas men's and ladies apparel
Penguin men's clothing
Golf clubs from
Taylormade
Ping
Mizuno
Vokey wedges
Bettandardi putters
Coaching will take place in the swing room using the state of the art Trackman4 simulator. This technology is as much for the beginner as it is for the advanced golfer enabling James to show areas and methods of improvement.
James go on to say ‘As the season kicks off I will be doing 'Get into Golf' Taster sessions on the practice ground. It would be great if you could recommend these taster sessions to fiends you would like to play golf with. More details to follow.’
Custom fitting for golf equipment will be central to James’ offer and as he explains below, he’s no stranger to expert club fitting.
‘Having started my custom fit career at Oswestry Golf Club, I have since worked for Mizuno as a custom fit specialist and am now a Taylormade master fitter. The right set of golf clubs can make a real difference to your game and I look forward to offering this service. I will also be offering a full golf club repair service to keep your favourite club in your bag as long as possible. ‘
Over the last 25 years James has helped members and friends organise golf trips anywhere from Celtic Manor to Pebble Beach, USA. Some of these are in a Pro Am format, while others are social golf, with prices starting from £130 per person. In May James will be taking some Oswestry Golf Club Members, and other local golfers, to Sawgrass in Florida.
Final word from James. ‘You can book lessons and fittings online at: https://jamesdavies.proagenda.com and if you want to know more about my plans and how I can help your golf, please come in to the shop for a chat.
All that remains to be said is please do support James in the shop and with lessons and as he says, pop in and introduce yourself.
